We are thrilled to be working with a host of extraordinarily talented photographers who have graciously donated their time and expertise to this calendar. You can read more about them below. We can’t thank them enough!
Anastasia Andrews is a lover of vintage motorbikes, Mid-Century decor, good books and the right of people to write them. Her credits include: publication in Hot Rods & Classics, participation in and curator of, group shows at the University of Victoria, Urge Tattoo Studio, and Studio 16 ½, in Victoria, BC. She has photographed the Betti Lu Bombshells and Bettina May to create unique comic-like visual narratives. She’s donated work to PEERS, “an organization of sex trade workers for sex trade workers.” She’s both honoured and delighted to contribute to Bare it for Books’ fundraiser for PEN. When she is not blowing minds for a living, teaching art, or driving her son to hockey practice, you may find her in disguise, somewhere on Vancouver Island taking pictures.

SHELAGH HOWARD studied Psychology, Fine Art and Photography at the University of Toronto and Ryerson University, and she has been photographing people in various states of dress and undress for as long as she can remember. Her work explores the human figure in all of its guises, including portraits, nudes, reflections, mannequins and shadows. In addition to her personal work, Shelagh is a respected portrait photographer whose images have been published in Opera Canada, The Globe and Mail, The National Post, Canadian House and Home, and Style at Home, as well as numerous international publications. Shelagh is becoming well known for her portraits of singers, artists, musicians, and others in creative fields, and she is delighted to add such esteemed authors to her list. A long time supporter of PEN Canada, and a life long bibliophile, this project brings together two or her great loves – reading and photography.
